What:
I am an author. A fiction author. Genres? I typically write paranormal romantic thrillers, many with some level of spice. But I also enjoy writing fantasy, sci-fi and dystopian.
My books range from novellas to 100k+ novels. And a few have won some awards and hit various Amazon charts.
This is only one of my pen names, but it is the one I seem to write the most in. I think it has to do with having the ability to focus on creating fantastical worlds and escape into the minds of amazingly powerful creatures. Also, I do enjoy the morally grey, which often reside in these genres. They allow me to play with the plotlines a bit more.
Why:
Why? Oof. That’s a good question. And I’m sure my therapist would have some really good answers that tie into past traumas or something. But really? I think I summed it up best when I said I simply enjoy the fantastical and powerful and otherworldly.
But there’s something more. I think many writers would understand when I say that it is a part of me… a part of my soul. And my characters talk to me, nudge and poke at me until I write their stories. Despite my best efforts at times, I could never not write. If nothing else, my characters would never let me.
How:
How do I write? I have 2 laptops, a desktop, a phone and a tablet with a hinged keyboard that I take everywhere and plenty of backup batteries. In other words… my books are always within reach. And I find that I write a large portion of my time.
How do I come up with all of this? Honestly? Inspiration comes from all over. And I truly mean that. Places I travel to, people I meet, movies and shows I watch, books I read, dreams I have. It’s all experiences, and sometimes, something pops out of something and goes, “Hey there! Do I have a story to tell!”
Some people ask how I can stay regimined and disciplined enough to write so much and so often. I honestly don’t try to. I have to. There is no if I can. It’s a part of me. A part of who I am. And a part of what I do.
Bio:
R.J. Lloyd started off as a romance writer under another pen name. However, R.J. is the side of this award winning, bestselling author that delves into fantasy, sci-fi, supernatural, paranormal and all things action and spooky that she loves so much.
A Detroit area based author, R.J. writes both novels and short stories, always looking for the next interesting and slightly off kilter character to follow on an adventure with.

The Pull: Book 1 of The Emanation Saga
Meet Ian and Eva.
Relationships are hard enough. But having a relationship in your dreams, every night, with someone you don’t know? That’s enough to make anyone question their sanity.
On a whim, in a desperate attempt to find out if he’s going insane, Ian tells his dream girl, Eva, to meet him, awake and in person, figuring that it would answer all his questions.
… or confirm his fears.
And Eva, debating the same thing about herself, agrees.
Meeting someone you considered a figment of your imagination can complicate things no matter who you are. But for Ian and Eva, complications like those would have been a welcome alternative to what they find.
Book 2, The Call of The Emanation Saga, releases Feb 2026
